Senior Stylist

Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Full-time Tuesday to Saturday available for the right person.

Not a chair you build from nothing over eighteen months. A stylist is moving on and is leaving behind a genuine book of regulars, including clients who have only ever sat with her. From your first week you will have people in front of you, on a standing four to six week cycle. What you build on top of that is yours and we will back you to do it.
About the studio
We are an independent, owner-run studio in the middle of Uckfield. Quiet luxury is the phrase we use, and we mean it in how the place runs as much as how it looks. Appointments have room in them. Consultations are a proper conversation, not ninety seconds at the basin. It should feel like a real escape rather than a production line, and that goes for the person holding the scissors as much as the one in the chair.
What the week looks like
- Your own column, your own timings, from day one
- One late night, Thursday until 8pm. Saturdays finish at 4pm
- Closed Sundays
- Kérastase, L'Oréal and Fabriq on the shelf
- Education budget and training days included
- Holiday, pension, product allowance, staff treatments
- Owner who is in the building and who will actually answer you
Who we are looking for
- Around four years or more qualified, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- Confident and quick on colour: foils, balayage, toning, and the judgement to recognise when a correction is a correction
- Able to run your own column, hold your own timings, and consult properly
- Genuinely good at turning a first-time client into a regular, because that is the part we care most about
- Saturdays are essential. It is the day our working clients can actually get to us and we want to serve them properly. If Saturdays do not work for you, this is not the right role
On pay
We would rather have a proper conversation about it than print a range. We will be straight with you at the first meeting.
